A great spinner from Australia has taken 708 wickets in test matches and 293 wickets in one day internationals. Despite being a successful cricketer, his career was held under many controversies both inside and outside the cricket field.
2. Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka): One of the amazing spin bowlers of all time. In his 18 years of successful career, Muralitharan has taken a record number of 800 test wickets and 534 wickets in one day internationals. He was the greatest bowler ever in the history of international cricket. He has played his last test match against India in 2010 and amazingly took his 800th wicket on the last delivery of his career.
3. Wilfred Rhodes (England): He was a successful English spin bowler with a very distinctive style of bowling. He has played 58 test matches for England in which he has taken 127 wickets. He has played test cricket for English cricket team from 1899 and 1930. He was also a useful batsman and scored 2500 runs in his career.
4. Jim Laker (England): He was one of the most successful English bowlers who hold a record of taking 19 wickets in a match against Australia in 1956 at Old Trafford, England. He has taken 193 wickets in his career with an average of 21.21 in the test matches.

5. Anil Kumble (India): He is maestro legendary leg spin bowler from India and also known as “Jumbo” among his teammates. He has taken 619 wickets in test matches while 337 wickets in one day internationals and was only the second bowler in the history of cricket who has taken 10 wickets in an inning against Pakistan in 1999. First being the James Laker.
6. Lance Gibbs (West Indies): Lance Richard Gibbs is a West Indian cricketer and one of the most successful bowlers in the test cricket. He was an off spin bowler and taken 309 wickets in 79 test matches with an average of 29.09. He has also taken 1024 wickets in the first class cricket.
7. Abdul Qadir (Pakistan): He is a former Pakistani spin bowler who has taken 300 wickets in his career. He has played for 14 years in Pakistan and was one of the most successful bowlers during the period of 1980’s. He has also taken 500 wickets in his first class career.
8. Bishan Singh Bedi (India): He is a former Indian cricketer and a world class off spin bowler during his time. He has represented India in 67 test matches and taken 266 test wickets with an average of 28.17. After his retirement from the international crickets he is now involved in coaching the young test cricketers.
9. Derek Underwood (England): He is one of the best spin bowlers in England during the period of 1960 to 1970. He has made his test debut against West Indies in 1966 and since then played in 86 test matches for England where he has taken 297 wickets. He was also the former president of MCC.
10. Richie Benaud (Australia): Richard Benaud is the former successful Australian test cricketer and a spin bowler and one of best cricket commentators presently. He has represented Australia in 66 test matches where he has taken 248 wickets for Australia. His best bowling figures are 7 wickets for 72 runs.
